BFC is a diverse community of Christian people, independently organized as a non-denominational church.

Historically, BFC’s ministry vision has been unswerving commitment to Bible study and to missionary outreach.

 Our Mission

Reach the Lost, and Grow the Saved

Our Values

Commitment to Truth

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31-32 ESV).

BFC is strongly committed to the truth of Scripture.  We believe that each believer in Jesus has Spirit empowered ability to learn, obey and be transformed by God’s revelation of Himself in Scripture.  To that end we have committed ourselves to Preach the Word, Teach the Word and Pray the Word through every means possible.

Commitment to God’s Family

And he said to them, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the age to come eternal life” (Luke 18:29-30 ESV).

The official name of BFC is “Bible Fellowship Church of Highlands County Florida.”  Sounds a bit pretentious doesn’t it?  That’s why we’d rather be known as “BFC Family.”  We are strongly committed to ministering to the family of God worshipping at BFC.  Toward that end we seek to provide opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship to every age and stage of believer who attends BFC.

Commitment to Our Community

But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare (Jeremiah 29:7 ESV).

BFC is deeply tied to the community of Sebring, Florida.  We love this place and its people, so we are committed to community involvement, spiritual outreach, and partnership with other churches in Highlands County and around the world.

Commitment to Prayer

But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word” (Acts 6:4 ESV).

BFC is deeply committed to the practice and teaching of Worship Based Prayer.  We believe that the deepest, most satisfying and effective form of prayer originates when God’s people pray in the Spirit, which is best done by following the revelation of God’s mind in Scripture.  We encourage our family to gather corporately for regular times of prayer centering on God’s Word.  We join with other local churches annually for 21 days of prayer and fasting.  We encourage prayer in our Youth and Children’s ministries.  In short, we truly believe that as Jesus said, “without Me, you can do nothing.”

Our Statement of Faith

  • We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as being verbally inspired and completely inerrant in the original writing and of supreme and final authority in faith and life.

  • We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.

  • We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also that spiritual death which is separation from God; that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word, and deed.

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representation and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.

  • We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and His present life for us a High Priest and Advocate.

  • We believe in “the blessed hope,” the personal premillenial and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

  • We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God, a relationship in which they are eternally secure.

  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.
